Who has the first question?
Every good website worth it’s salt has an FAQ page. And we’re no different.
We’ve been asked a few questions so far (you can see what we said below). But, we’re pretty sure there’ll be more as time goes on. With that in mind, feel free to check out this page if you have a question. If you don’t see the answer, give us a shout, ask us and, chances are, our answer will end up here too!
R3C0VRY.WRX is a community. A movement for people in recovery from substance abuse and alcohol addiction. This website has been created by people in recovery, for anyone & everyone in recovery. It is a platform for you to share your story, show your art and weave your words.
We’re just starting out, and are constantly on the lookout for contributions to help the community grow. Why not get involved?
There’s a lot of recovery stuff online. But it’s all over the place. Some of it’s great, some of it’s terrible. We had the idea of creating a place to share experiences, gather thoughts, insight and beliefs about recovery. We are not here to preach… but to allow a safe place to expand the community, spread the word and showcase the power of recovery as part of a lifestyle choice.
Oh, and here’s the thing, it’s by you, for you… Pretty much all the content is by you! Be it a story, a poem, a painting or some pictures. We want you to send us your stuff so we can publish it on here to demonstrate the soul of recovery in our community so that we can de-stigmatise addiction and recovery and develop a better understanding of ourselves and others. So, why not contribute?
Why not? We believe in a place for recovery. A place where people can share, and spread the word. Simple really.
Or, as Rik from The Young Ones would say: “Because we’re living at the limit, where the only place to put bleach is in your hair… we’re riders at the gates of dawn and we take no prisoners!”
Or something like that!
We’re at home, it’s Saturday! Where are you?
Only kidding, we’re most often found at 5Ways @ The Recovery Academy in Leeds (Yorkshire, UK). We’re all in recovery of some kind and Leeds is our spiritual home. But take a look at the Community Map and you’ll see that we have peeps literally all over the world. How cool is that?
No. And Yes.
No, at the moment we’re run by volunteers, with some help and support from the peeps at 5Ways. And we’re very happy with that.
In the future, if things take off and we spy the opportunity to generate some income to put back in and cover costs we’d certainly entertain it. But we’re not there yet. As and when this happens we’ll have a good think… and ask the community what they’d like us to do.
We are a Democratic Recovery Movement, after all.
Yes, you can. And we’d love you to.
We want you to send us your stuff, be it a story, a poem, a review, a painting or some pictures so we can publish it on here to demonstrate the soul of recovery in our community.
If you’d like to help run the site, generate content and be a “Recovery Hack” that would also be cool. Just let us know… it doesn’t matter where you are, Barnsley or Bangkok!
Do you mean you haven’t read our Terms yet? Shame on you! We know, they can be boring, but we insist.
There’s one really key bit, mind. And it goes like this:
Because much of what goes on the site is sent in, we need to be 100% sure that we have permission to publish it.
That means YOU have to be absolutely sure that anything you send is either yours or that you have permission to send it.
It’s not much to ask, and it’s important!
There, stern words over.
Don’t see the answer to your question? Hmm.
Contact us and we’ll do our best to put you straight just as soon as we can. Please allow 48 hours for our initial reply.
We’re busy recovering too!
